Beyond the Sand – formerly Sand Safari Arts Festival – is returning bigger and better this autumn with a nine-day program of stunning art installations, live sand sculpting, live entertainment, interactive workshops and more, celebrating art, talent and culture in one of Queensland’s most vibrant beach destinations.

Beyond the Sand Festival will take over Surfers Paradise to showcase a variety of eye-catching, thought-provoking artworks on the beachfront and on the sand itself, including intricately detailed larger-than-life sand sculptures brought to life, LIVE by some of Australia’s most renowned artists.
Witness a huge sand-sculpted Fun Park and Merry-Go-Round, plus many more epic sculptures in this year’s Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, which will take place over three days with the chance to vote in the winner via an app. This year, the theme is Circus Carnival!
Each day, there’ll also be live circus entertainment for all ages, including jugglers, unicyclists, trapeze artists, aerial stunts and more, as well as with live music to catch from local DJs Sharks Lloyd, Cory Hotline, Just Jessie and DiskoDisco!
Overall, Beyond the Sand Gold Coast is a FREE nine-day festival packed with plenty to see, do and enjoy, suitable for all ages and boasting the backdrop of one of the region’s most beautiful beach destinations.
Beyond the Sand is a COVID Safe event – registration is required, however, all visitors will be urged to maintain 1.5 social distancing and frequent hand sanitation.
